A Typical Day at Woodlodge Montessori School
At Woodlodge Montessori School, each day is thoughtfully structured to provide a balanced mix of learning, exploration, and play, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to develop, grow, and enjoy their time with us. While the daily schedule may vary depending on your child’s session, here’s an overview of what a typical day looks like:
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM | Morning Welcome & Montessori Work Cycle
Children are warmly welcomed by our staff as they settle into the nursery. From the moment they arrive, they engage in the Montessori Work Cycle, choosing from a range of activities, enjoying quiet time in the library, or chatting with friends and teachers. Breakfast is available from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, and all children must arrive by 9:00 AM.
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Learning & Specialist Activities
Children continue their Montessori learning and participate in specialist activities such as French, Ballet, Tennis, or ICT (please ask the nursery for details). A self-serve snack station is available between 8:45 AM and 10:30 AM.
9:15 AM – 11:30 AM | Small Group & Outdoor Activities
This time is dedicated to small group discussions and outdoor exploration, fostering social skills and physical development.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Lunchtime & Social Interaction
Children sit in small groups to enjoy lunch with their friends. Our teachers join them at the table, promoting good manners, social engagement, and a relaxed dining experience.
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM | Outdoor Play & Rest
After lunch, children have the option to play outdoors, rest, or enjoy some quiet time. At 1:00 PM, morning session children depart, and afternoon children arrive.
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM | Montessori Work Cycle & Snack
The afternoon Montessori Work Cycle begins, allowing children to engage in self-directed learning. A snack station is available between 2:00 and 2:30 PM.
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Small Group Activities & Home Time for School Day Children
Children take part in group discussions before School Day children leave.
3:30 PM – 4:00 PM | Indoor & Outdoor Activities
A mix of indoor and outdoor play, helping children unwind and explore new interests.
4:00 PM – 4:45 PM | Tea Time
Children sit together in small groups for a light snack or meal, creating another opportunity for social interaction and relaxation.
4:45 PM – 6:00 PM | Wind-Down Activities & Storytime
As the day comes to a close, children can relax with a book, enjoy storytelling, play games, or take part in other engaging activities.
6:00 PM | Nursery Closes
A happy and fulfilling day at Woodlodge Montessori School comes to an end, leaving children eager to return for another exciting day of learning and play!
